Harvest Share for surplus produce
saladgreens-w150-h150

Have you got a glut of produce in your garden or allotment this year? Why not share your harvest...

Every year, garden gluts of courgettes, beans and more end up in the compost bin rather than on our plates. Now gardeners and allotment holders can ensure this extra produce is put to good use instead!

The Harvest Share initiative is here to create links between gardeners and community projects, help reduce waste and increase enjoyment of fresh, local fruit and vegetables. There are many community groups around Brighton & Hove that would be grateful for any amount, large or small, of donated fresh fruit & veg to share with their members.

We have a list of projects around the city who would be happy to give your surplus fruit & veg a new home. All you need to do is give them a ring and arrange a time to drop off or have the produce collected. If you've got some produce you'd like to donate do one of these three things:

  • download this list of projects and give one a call
  • if you've got an allotment, look out for a sign on your gate directing you to projects in your area
  • contact the Harvest team who can put you in touch with a project - we've got a longer, and growing, list of more projects happy to receive produce

If your project would like to receive donated produce, please give us a call and we'll add you to the list!
