Baked Peaches

Description

Serve either warm or cold with ice cream, cream or plain yoghurt.

4 peaches

4 tsp almonds

Butter

4 tsp sugar

Methods/steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C, 375°F, gas 5.
  2. Cut each peach in half around the ‘equator’ and remove the stone.
  3. Butter an oven tray, sprinkle it with a little sugar, and arrange the peaches on it, cut side up.
  4. Mix the sugar and nuts together and place a teaspoonful in each peach cavity.
  5. Put a small piece of butter on top.
  6. Pour half a cup of water into the bottom of the tray.
  7. Cover the tray with foil and bake in the oven until the peaches are soft – about 30 to 50 minutes.

Additional Tips

For adults, you can add a little sherry or other sweet wine to the peaches before baking.
