2 -3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
5 tomatoes cut into pieces.
2 green or red chillies finely chopped (Use more or less chillies to adjust the heat to your taste)
2 potatoes cut into pieces.
A pinch of chilli powder.
2 teaspoons ground coriander.
Salt to taste
300-400g frozen peas (about half of a normal bag, or use fresh ones from your garden!)
A handful of fresh coriander finely chopped.
1 teaspoon garam masala
Methods/steps
- Heat the oil in a saucepan until quite hot and add the cumin seeds. Fry until slightly coloured. (Be careful not to burn them as this can happen very quickly)
- Add the tomato pieces and chillies and fry until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add potatoes, chilli, coriander and salt to saucepan, stir well and cover with a lid.
- Cook for about 10 minutes stirring every now and then.
- Add peas and coriander to the pan, mix well and cook until peas and potatoes are soft.
- Add garam masala and stir well.




Additional Tips
Serve with rice or nan bread.
