Seedy Sunday Saturday Seedling Swap

PRESS RELEASE

Date: 4th May 2011

Seedy Sunday Saturday Seedling Swap event, 10am-1pm

Photo Opportunity: Saturday 7th May 2011, by the Harvest demonstration vegetable garden in Preston Park (behind the Rotunda Cafe), BN1 6HN, 12pm

Have you got some spare seedlings you'd like to swap for some new and different varieties? Or perhaps you had the best intentions to sow some seeds but didn't get around to it? Either way, come along to the Seedy Sunday Saturday Seedling Swap and Sale on 7 May. There will be vegetables, herbs and more for growing spaces of all sizes. Besides the swapping and selling of seedlings, there will also be cookery and composting demonstrations, seedbomb workshops, downland lambs being fed by bottle, and lots of information to take home.

Organised by Seedy Sunday and Harvest Brighton & Hove. Part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.

“Swapping seeds and seedlings is a fun way to meet other growers, try out some new plant varieties and share the fruits of your gardening labours! We want to help more people grow ‘heritage’ or ‘heirloom’ seeds as these are often better adapted to your environment and soil and can help to safeguard the future diversity of our plantlife. Come and join us for some seedling sales, swaps and other fun activities.” said Jess Crocker, Manager of the Harvest project at the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership.
