Do you have an allotment or large garden and want to grow fruit but don’t know where to start?  If you are new to fruit growing this course will give you easy methods and  the practical knowledge to start growing a range of different fruits without spending a fortune!

Say goodbye to  buying  bland, overpriced fruit and give your taste buds a treat with your own fresh and delicious favourites.

What the course covers:

  • How to choose the best fruit trees for your site and space.
  • How to plant your trees and care for them.
  • How to get more raspberries, strawberries, currant and loganberries for free through simple methods of propagation.

What you will need on the day:

This course will be taught outdoors so please dress warmly and wear waterproof shoes and jackets. All tools and materials will be provided by the trainers. There are toilet facilities on site. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.

About the site:

Whitehawk Community Food Project is a friendly, allotment-based organic gardening group. Volunteer days are Thursdays and Sundays 12pm-dusk and anyone who helps out on the allotment will be rewarded with fresh seasonal produce. This is a well-established site with beautiful sea views, polytunnels, orchard, and vegetable and herb gardens.
