June growing & eating tips
In the kitchen... There'll be more early pickings of broad beans, peas, rhubarb, strawberries, salads and new potatoes around now! We've added a recipe for elderflower cordial to our recipe database or why not learn how to save money and waste less with top tips and recipes at: www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/lovefoodhatewaste.
In the garden... Don't forget to water during this dry weather, and harvest over-wintered garlic when half the leaves are brown. You could also be picking the crops listed above, or still sowing fennel, carrots, salads, radishes and spinach. We've also heard about another organic anti-slug treatment, let us know if you've tried Sluggone and whether you rate it over beer traps, copper, coffee grounds and the like! More June and July gardening tips.

Harvest has organised our Grow It competition and there are also plans afoot for a talk and a picnic event too, more info coming soon. Let us know if you'd like to get involved or organise your own event.
