Also, the Allotment Federation’s Children’s Competition is now open for entries! It is the perfect opportunity for Brighton youth to show off their green-fingered creativity!

 Some upcoming Harvest courses:

6 March, No Dig Gardening with guru Charles Dowding. Tickets available at the sale price of £35 til the end of February!

27 March, Sowing & Growing, a course covering all a new gardener needs to know.

What’s on: As ever, there’s tons of good foodie action coming up including:

-          Seedbomb workshops: 13, 17, 24 March, 1 April – various times and locations. Visit Harvest for more information on the workshops and how to book. A fun activity for half-term!

-          Cook the Seasons, Thursday 25 February, 4, 11, 18 March. Ever wondered what to do with all that celeriac? This four-week cookery will teach you lots of delicious new recipes for cooking with local, seasonal ingredients. There are a few spaces left – visit the Harvest website for more information and how to book.

-          Food Partnership AGM, 3 March, 6:00 – 9:00pm, Brighthelm Centre: Our annual general meeting. Besides the usual business we’ll also be holding a discussion about food waste and what we can do to reduce it. Non-members welcome (and you can join on the night!). Please contact Roberta on 01273 431700 or Roberta@bhfood.org.uk with any queries.

-          Build a wood fired clay oven, 10 – 11 April, 11:00 – 4:00, Moulsecoomb Forest Garden: Come prepared to get stuck in and dirty! Mix clay with your feet and use your hands to build an oven from start to finish. This course is particularly relevant to organisations that want to build a clay oven at their project.  Find out more and book online.
